Salazar-Collier, Cindy Lynn

Cindy Salazar-Collier is a social epidemiologist with an interest in chronic disease prevention and management, namely through the promotion of positive nutrition and physical activity behavior. Her research interests include religion and health, type 2 diabetes, obesity prevention, and sociocultural factors contributing to quality patient-provider relationships. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Humanities and a Master of Public Health with a focus in Community Health Education from Baylor University. She then went on to earn a PhD in Epidemiology with a minor in Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences from the UTHealth Houston, School of Public Health where she as well served as a postdoctoral researcher with the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics, and Environmental Sciences. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Public Health at Texas A&M International University and an Adjunct Instructor with the MPH@Baylor program.
