Joseph Stubenrauch joined Baylor’s history faculty in 2011. He earned a B.A. at Calvin College and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at Indiana University. Dr. Stubenrauch specializes in modern British history, focusing particularly on the interplay between religion, print culture, mass markets, and urbanization during the nineteenth century. His first book, The Evangelical Age of Ingenuity in Industrial Britain (Oxford, 2016), explored British evangelical attempts to use commercial and industrial developments to further the spread of the gospel. Currently, he is researching a book project on religion in nineteenth-century, working-class autobiographies.
