We are delighted to invite you to an Evening Conversation with author and professor Byron Johnson. Please join us on November 2 at the University Club in Washington, DC for what promises to be a fascinating conversation on his new book More God, Less Crime: Why Faith Matters and How It Could Matter More.
Byron Johnson is a Distinguished Professor of the Social Sciences at Baylor University and Director of the Institute for Studies of Religion at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He is a Senior Fellow at the Witherspoon Institute, and Senior Research Scholar at the Institute for Jewish and Community Research. He has directed research centers at Vanderbilt University and the University of Pennsylvania and is currently completing a series of studies for the Department of Justice on the role of religion in prosocial youth behavior.
Byron Johnson is recognized as a leading authority on the scientific study of religion, the efficacy of faith-based organizations, domestic violence, and criminal justice. His new book, More God, Less Crime, explores how religion can be a powerful antidote for crime. The book describes how faith communities, congregations, and faith-based organizations are essential in forming partnerships necessary to provide the human and spiritual capital to effectively address crime, offender rehabilitation, and the substantial aftercare problems facing former prisoners.
This event is hosted in parternship with Baylor University’s Institute for Studies of Religion.
We look forward to reconnecting with old friends and introducing new friends to the work of the Trinity Forum. Please feel free to bring your friends and colleagues!
